No, not safely. MailMate has to be involved in a synchronization scheme to do it safely. It's on the todo, but it's unlikely to happen soon.

For what it's worth, +1 on this feature request.
Settings, but also rules would be nice to be able to sync.
Thanks.

A possible workaround would be an export/import option for all Smart Folders/Rules. That way you could have a one click export to Dropbox and import it on another machine.

Very important topic. With so many configuration possibilities we must have a sync or an export feature.

Hi Benny,
just checking in to see if any progress has been made in this area either exporting of settings/smartfolders or syncing.

There is no progress on this feature, but I can at least use this ticket to state how to move settings manually.
Always quit MailMate on both source and destination machines before moving these files.
The
.plist
files in the following folder contains most of the settings relevant for synchronization:~/Library/Application Support/MailMate/*.plist
In particular, copying
Mailboxes.plist
can be used to move smart mailboxes from one machine to another. As for all OS X applications, most of the settings in the preferences panes (and hidden preferences) are stored here:
~/Library/Preferences/com.freron.MailMate.plist

I've done similar sync for Postbox and found that each instance of Postbox (running on different machines) need to have unique user ID for SendLater function to work properly, or the same copy of one draft in the draft IMAP folder can be sent out from all instances of Postbox. Can you confirm if this type of problem is precluded in MailMate if I follow your instruction above to sync the configurations across computers I use?

@Ryuji: Send Later only works on the machine (MailMate instance) on which the email was created. (It would be very tricky to synchronize it without risking sending a message more than once.)

Thanks. I rsync'ed the entire folder and the preferences file over to a second machine and tested SendLater function, and saw it working the way it should. This is a lot easier than doing the same with Postbox. With Postbox, I had to manually the unique machine ID after each file sync, so that no two computers have the same ID, or multiple computers will send the same email from the draft folder. It looks like MailMate doesn't even share the same Drafts folder over the IMAP server... or maybe there is some mechanism to know which drafts were made on one computer rather than the others all working on one same IMAP server.

@Ryuji: It's the same folder, but it's only the machine used to press “Send” that knows that the message is in the process of being sent.
