SPAM IP Exposure Using Delete Now
Reported by Rob Tull | February 2nd, 2015 @ 04:50 PM
I often use Delete Now to delete messages spam so that it's instantly fried. However, in several cases I've seen a spam message flash its images after triggering Delete Now. It's almost as though there's a process order problem, where Delete Now causes the message to lose its "Junk" status just briefly before it's deleted.
Because the images flash, it means that I'm being exposed as a confirmed delivery to the spammer even though the message was effectively blocked and I'm trying to delete it. Can you fix this?

That certainly does not sound good. My initial attempts to reproduce failed. Do you have any idea under which circumstances this can happen?
There is a primitive debug variable which we can use to confirm that MailMate misbehaves. Enable it like this:
defaults write com.freron.MailMate MmDebugImageBlocking -bool YES
Then launch from the Terminal and notice that you can see when MailMate fetches external images without blocking:
/Applications/MailMate.app/Contents/MacOS/MailMate
Maybe that can help you help me reproduce the issue.
Thanks in advance.
