Out of Office Reply

Reported by Rob Morrison | May 1st, 2013 @ 06:23 PM

Hello,

I'm going away on holiday and would like to set up an automated response to all message while I am away. Does Mailmate have this functionality?

I've tried searching online but can't find any reference to it.

I leave tomorrow so any help would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Rob

Sorry, that is not a feature of MailMate. It'll be possible when MailMate becomes more scriptable, but I'll probably never make it an integrated feature. It's a can-of-worms, because vacation notices can easily result in message-loops. In fact, I'm kind of against vacation notices for that reason.

Have you checked that your IMAP provider does not offer a solution (maybe in webmail settings). It is much better handled by the server since then you do not need to have a computer online.

I'll close this ticket since scripting is already covered by another ticket. (You can still comment on this ticket.)

    Hi Benny,

I totally get how Out of Office is a really crap idea, but I need it to make to time for a holiday !

I want to use SpamSieve to filter emails, then MailMate rules to drop filtered emails into a folder and from there send an out of office reply.

Is this possible in any way ?
