Messages being marked read

Benny,
This is likely a user issue, but I have an account (low volume, thankfully) where inbox messages are being marked as read. I can mark a message unread, and within minutes, it's marked read agin. I've checked and there's no rules assigned to the account.
Where should I look next?

I can check all rules if you send me this file:
~/Library/Application Support/MailMate/Mailboxes.plist
Could something do it server side? Or another email client/service?
You can also create logs for me like this:
- Open the Activity Viewer (⌥⌘0).
- Wait for it to happen once or twice.
- Use “Help ▸ Send Server Logs”.
