Can't attach .mindnode files

Reported by Matthew Newman | November 25th, 2013 @ 12:56 PM

Hi,

I'm trying MailMate and absolutely love it so far - thank you!

One small problem though:

I can't reliably attach MindNode Pro .mindnode files to emails. Sometimes they appear as application /octet-stream and can't be opened, but mostly they don't show at all.

I've tried dragging the file onto a new blank email, and using the Attachments → Attach Files... dialog.

As a workaround I can zip them but I'd rather not have to.

I've attached a test.mindnode file for your reference.

Thanks,
Matthew.

    • State changed from “new” to “accepted”

The problem is that it's not a file, but a folder. MailMate does not, yet, automatically zip folders and this is necessary to send it by email. If it seems to work like that in another email client then it's because this fact is “hidden” for the user (not that there is anything wrong with that).

I'll mark the ticket as “accepted” and consider it a request for auto-archiving folder attachments.

    Thanks Benny,

    I'm used to mail.app - it must be auto-archiving.
