In some mailboxes Columns revert to an unwanted view

I want to see just the Relative Date Sent for each message: no From, no Subject etc.

I set Columns appropriately (including and it works, as in Screenshot_1, i.e., the view is persistent when switching mailboxes.

But when I try to set the same view in another mailbox, the view is not persistent; it reverts to the 'Default'.

Except the 'Default' is not really Default --- because I have set the Default to be the Relative Date Sent view.

When I select Revert to Default view on the offending mailboxes, they do revert to show just the Relative Date Sent.

But when I click out of them, the 'Default' view returns (Screenshot_2)

Interestingly, the first mailbox on the list works fine.
