`Recent messages` menubar counter does not get updated
Reported by Dmitry | May 9th, 2015 @ 09:26 AM
The very last message it shows is dated April, but I have hundreds of mails that arrived later.

Please share your Counters settings using the following Terminal command:
defaults read com.freron.MailMate MmCounters
Also verify in the Counters preferences pane that the counters are configured as you would expect.

Try switching “Recent” to “Unread” if that is really what you want. The “Recent” option is actually quite unreliable with most IMAP servers. (Technical detail: It seems to have gotten even worse after MailMate started using the so-called CONDSTORE IMAP extension.)
Also, don't base counters on “All Message Parts”, but just “All Messages” (or most often just Inbox). I don't think this should result in wrong counts though.
Does that help?

I'm already using
Unread
. But as I am using multiple IMAP clients, it would be convenient if I could useRecent
, in sense oflast messages by date received

Inbox will not work, as I am using multiple filters to sort messages between folders. Changed to “All Messages”.
Does that help?
Unfortunately, it does not.

The closest to that would be to use the “All” count, but then you would of course get a very large count. To get around that you could make a smart mailbox with “Date Received within 2 weeks” or something similar.
Recent is based on the IMAP RECENT keyword and its definition is not controlled by MailMate, but I believe the idea is that a message is only recent the first time an IMAP client sees the message.

That did work. Thanks for quick answers!
