Email sort
Reported by Lorraine Goodman | December 8th, 2014 @ 09:43 AM
HI Benny
Not a problem with the program...but if I manage to put my
emails in alphabetical order, which is simple enough,
it takes me quite a while to get the emails back to date received
etc, lots of wild selections. Can you please
tell me what the correct procedure is .
Thanks
Lorraine

I'm no sure exactly what you mean. Sorting by date is done by clicking on the “Date Received” header in the messages outline. You can also setup a default configuration using “View ▸ Columns ▸ Use as Default Columns”. Note that each mailbox has its own settings, but you can always revert to the settings you have configured as defaults by using “Revert to Default Columns” in the same menu.
I hope this helps.

If I go to 'from' and click on it to change sort to alphabetical order, merely pressing on date received
once I've done that doesn't seem to get me back to that state, the account remains in alphabetical order. But
now I know I can set up a default column setup, that gets rid of my issue easily. Thanks -

Hi Benny
I just tried your suggestion and unfortunately it didn't work. It didn't change the sort priority, ie.
back from alphabetical to date received. I know it's not a glitch, it's just that I can't figure out the
right way to do that easily. Thanks

You are telling me that clicking on “Date Received” does not sort your emails by date? That sounds like a bug, but I cannot reproduce it. It might help if you provide a screenshot:
- Enable “View ▸ Distortion Mode” to keep your emails private.
- Click on “Date Received” such that dates can be seen which are not sorted correctly.
- Create a screenshot with the relevant part of the window.
Thanks in advance.

Ok, clicking on date received might have got me back to the right place, I've been in dippy mode. I've tried
everything but that! Thank you -

- State changed from new to resolved
Ok, let me know if it's still not working as expected.
