Choose target calendar

Reported by Marc-Antoine Cousin | October 30th, 2014 @ 04:20 PM

Hi,

I need to send emails to MAC OS Calendar to my google calendar (linked into the MAC OS calendar app). As of now, when I send the email using the Command>Calendar>Create Event menu item, it tries to post it into "work". As I don't have a "work" calendar, it returns an error.

How can I change the target calendar in MailMate?

Thanks

MA

    • State changed from “new” to “resolved”

It's currently only possible by issuing the following Terminal command:

defaults write com.freron.MailMate MmDefaultCalendarName -string "calendar-name"

Let me know if that does not help.

    Hi Benny,

Thanks for responding. I have tried your approach (and replaced "calendar-name" by "MAC-Rosaorbi", which is the name of the calendar). Now I don't have an error message anymore but nothing else happens. I just hear a "thud" sound and nothing else.

That could be a sign that the script fails to find a date for the event. Try selecting text with a “simple” date to see if this helps.

Yes! It now works when there is a date in the email, even just "tomorrow" works.

Thanks. Now MailMate can really play the role of my control centre, i can send stuff to Evernote to archive, Omnifocus to do and Calendar to schedule. Great stuff.

One suggestion: currently the "attach to email" function in Acrobat Reader does not work with MailMate as the default mail server. It would be great if at some stage it did. Cheers.

I'm afraid Acrobat Reader is in control of that.

Are you on 10.10? (I have users where OmniFocus integration does not work.)

OK. Noted. I barked at the wrong tree, LOL.

    Thanks!
