Default Browser
Reported by David Askew | May 22nd, 2014 @ 02:31 PM
Why does MailMate not honor the default browser setting? Anytime I use the "Search with Google" option from the context menu it opens Safari, but Safari is not my default browser. Chrome is my default. How can I tell MailMate to use Chrome?

The "Search with Google" contextual menu item isn't provided by MailMate. It is a service exported by Safari. You'll notice that if you go in many apps and bring up the context menu, "Search with Google" is there.
Not a MailMate issue...

Duh! Of course I didn't think of that ahead of time. Makes sense. Thanks.

I wasn't actually aware that this was hardcoded to Safari (although not surprising given Apple's tendency to hardcode the use of their own applications). It is possible for MailMate to change this behavior though. I'll look into that.

Ok, I did just that. Ideally, these context menu items should be much more configurable, but that'll have to wait a bit.
