IMAP sync error when receiving emails while syncing

Over the last two days I have been getting a lot of emails in one of my email folders (approx one email every 2-3 seconds) and MailMate is having a hard time syncing the folder because the number of mails in the folder changes during the sync. I then get the attached error message (detected sequence number larger than the number of messages).
I usually click on "retry" and it works after a few tries when I find a time window where no now emails arrive during the sync.
