contact group duplicates
Reported by tvalleau | April 10th, 2014 @ 05:36 PM
Hi
Maybe I don't understand how to work it, but...
I have a number of "groups" in my Contacts. I also have my Contacts sync thru iCloud.
Hence, in the left column of Contacts, I have
iCloud
"groupName" On My Mac
"groupName"
The point being that both groupnames are the same (due to syncing).
Now, if I address an email to "groupName" I get each individual address -twice-, once from the iCloud "groupName" and once from the On My Mac "groupName".
If I change the On My Mac "groupName" to "groupName-2" and address to that group, I get only one entry per name.
Unfortunately, when I sync again, "groupName-2" will also appear in the iCloud, and I'll be back to square one, sending everyone the same email twice.
What am I failing to understand here, and how do I use groups to avoid double emails?

I don't why a group can both be local (On My Mac) and cloud-based (and I haven't tried it myself), but I looked at the related code and I can see why you get duplicates. MailMate iterates through all matches and that's unlikely to be what the user wants. I've changed it to only pick the first (non-empty) match.
Thanks for the report.
