Archive button on a message part of a thread

#623

I don't understand how the Archive button works when applied to a message part of a thread: sometimes only the selected message is archived, sometimes the whole thread… I cannot catch the logic behind and did not find any documentation. Maybe I missed it?

In fact, I think I understood something. The whole thread is not archived but splitted in two threads (despite it is the same). So they are place where they should appear given the date of their last message as if they were two different threads.

Maybe it would be clearer to make them stay as an unique thread despite some messages of the thread are archived?

It's not that complicated. When a message is collapsed then the children of the selected message are included in the “Archive” action (or any other action including marking as read or flagged). When it's expanded then it's only the selected message.

Threads split in two (or more) is a different issue and related to the currently very strict threading mode in MailMate. This is covered by other tickets.
