conflict Markdown/e-mail conventions

Hello,

I generally sign my e-mails by something in this flavour:

(note the extra space after the two dashes)

The problem is that in Markdown, it is the syntax for headers and a conflict occurs since I don't want it to be converted into an h2.

Something surprising: the conflict doesn't happen when I create a new e-mail (seems to be escaped), but it happens when I reply to an e-mail which is itself an e-mail replying to an e-mail from me containing the sequence: --.

    • State changed from “new” to “fixcommitted”

    2 different bugs were involved here (and a third bug related to this and “SmartyPants” appeared in testing). Part of the issue was quoted signature separators and part of the issue was the creation of messages without the need for format=flowed (rarely happens for me).

    All 3 bugs are fixed in the next update.

    I just tried creating your signature and send a message to myself using it (with Markdown). I then replied to that message and your signature was automatically added again. None of this was converted to Markdown.

    Could you describe your steps to reproduce this bug in more detail?

    Hello,

    I thought the bug was still there because I replied with the new version to a message replying to a message I wrote with the previous version of Mailmate and the bad formatting still appeared.

    When I do the test with messages written with the new version of Mailmate, it is ok. So I guess the problem occurs at the creation of a message and not at the reading of it.
