Can't drag messages to another folder

Reported by Martin McCallion | September 16th, 2013 @ 11:44 PM

Hi, I've become unable to drag messages from the Inbox to another folder, or from any folder to another. I drag a message (or group of messages) and they appear to move, but when I hover over the target folder they don't become droppable, and when I let go they just bounce back and stay where they were.

I can still move them with a keyboard shortcut.

I'm on OS X 10.8.4, and MailMate 1.6 (3549).

I assume this means that it worked in the past?

Does this behavior persist after restarting MailMate?

Have you also tried moving messages to a mailbox in one of the accounts under SOURCES?

(I don't currently have any other reports about this.)

This is infuriating: I have repeatedly added this comment, and it keeps not being there when I come back to look again. I wonder if it's getting through somehow...

Anyway: yes, it used to work as expected; and yes, it works if I drag to a mailbox under SOURCES.

I have had problems with the spam handling of lighthouseapp, but they recently improved this. I'll report your problem such that they can look into if something is not working as expected. If it fails again then contact me by email.

The dragging problem: A few versions of MailMate allowed dragging to a smart mailbox if it was based on a single IMAP mailbox, but that is not currently functional. Are you trying to drag to a smart mailbox or one of the universal mailboxes (Inbox, Archive, Drafts, ...)?

What is your revision of MailMate? (Use the “MailMate ▸ About” menu item.)

The version is 1.6 (3549). And yes, I'm talking about dragging to the universal mailboxes, specifically Archive).

Do you have 1 or more accounts configured?

    Does the “Archive” button work?

(I'm a bit lost with respect to what could be triggering this behavior.)

You could try fetching the latest test version to see if the behavior persists: Hold down ⌥ when clicking “Check Now” in the Software Update preferences pane.

OK, I've updated as you suggested. I'm now on Revision 3741 (Monday, September 30, 2013). And hey! It seems to be fixed.

Just to answer your other questions for future reference, I have exactly one account configured, and yes, the "Archive" button worked before the upgrade, and still does.

    Thanks for your help.

    • State changed from “new” to “resolved”

Maybe this was broken in r3549 for single account setups. Let me know if the problem re-appears.
