Where should custom theme mmTheme files go?

Back in 2016 (in ticket #1561), you said, regarding custom HTML message themes:
... making custom themes. Let me know if you want to know more about that (it's experimental, but I would welcome users trying out custom themes).
I'm interested in giving this a go, but can't find out where my
new .mmTheme file should go. Seems this was also
discussed on the mailing list in July last year (Rich Text
(HTML) themes?), but no answer there either.
I tried .../Application Support/Mailmate/Themes/
but that doesn't seem to be the winning ticket.
