Hidden Preference for Default Search Location Feature Request

I'd really like to swap the default search from toolbar to stay in the current mailbox all the time instead of having to press a key:
"(If “Current Mailbox” is selected then holding down ⌥ makes MailMate search “All Messages”.)"
Could this be swapped by the addition of a hidden preference?
