Source never stops spinning

Howdy,
I have a Dovecot IMAP server as my home mail server and it has a lot of messages (606,793 when I click on the source). I don't seem to have any problems seeing or searching my emails, but, the little spinny thing (work indicator) next to the source (named Home) never stops spinning. When I look at the Activity Monitor window it either shows an F19 or LOGOUT but is always IDLE when I check. The server side doesn't show any usage while this is happening. Thoughts? How can I help debug this?
