Crash on setting synchronisation schedule
Reported by John Man | January 15th, 2013 @ 07:00 AM
MailMate crashes whenever I do the following:
1 Right click on a mailbox under a source in the left hand pane.
2 Select "Synchronization Schedule" and choose the option which is already selected - the crash happens. If I choose a different option, then it is fine.
(BTW, is there a reason why it defaults to "Every 10 Minutes" ? I went through all of my mailboxes and selected them to "Connected".)

Thanks for the report. This is a feature which is only present in recent test versions of MailMate.
With respect to “Connected”: I can see that I have to build in some kind of warning for users doing as you describe. “Connected” means that MailMate will keep an open connection to the server for the mailbox. This uses the IDLE command which is the only way to be notified immediately about new messages. In other words, each “Connected” mailbox requires a connection. By default, MailMate only uses at most 3 connections to the server. You can see which ones are connected by looking for a bold font in the mailbox outline.
Increasing the number of connections is currently a hidden feature (requires editing a text file), but you should note that most servers have a limit on the number of open connections. This limit includes connections from all devices/clients. For example, if you run both Apple Mail and MailMate then both applications use connections.
(I should at least grey-out “Connected” when no connections are available.)
