Hold down ⌥ when clicking “Check Now” in the Software Update preferences pane to get the latest test release. Then let me know if the issue persists.

Better! It take a sec the first time I use the keyboard shortcut "r", but then is fine after that. Thanks for the help!

Hi - this is once again flaring up. All replies take several seconds to load

Ok, just to be sure, check the revision number in the About window of MailMate. It should be r5927 (or something close to that).

If this still happens then I need a sample file to learn more. For example, open a Terminal window and issue the following command:

    sample MailMate 10 > ~/Desktop/mailmate_sample.txt

While this command is running, reply to one or more messages. Then send me the resulting file using “Help > Send Feedback”.

You can increase the number of seconds if needed (the number 10 in the line above).

Thanks for the sample. The problem is related to changes with Contacts integration. This is initialized when replying and for some reason it's very slow. It might also be re-initialized if MailMate detects changes to contacts which might be why the delay repeats.

Do you have a lot of contacts? Exchange contacts? Anything else out of the ordinary?

As a stop-gap solution I could possibly introduce a hidden preference to disable handling of contact groups if you do not use these.

I dont think I have a lot of contacts (500 in google), but I do get mail from a lot of different people so I have a lot of "Other Contacts"

I'm seeing the same issue starting this morning. I probably have ~500 contacts in my personal account and use an Office365 server for my work account.

@Bricker: What exactly do you mean by “Other Contacts”? Is this just people never added to Contacts?

@Rowell: I know there's an issue with Office365, because for some reason it has a “group” which is simply all of your contacts. Combined with how MailMate handles groups and the slowness of certain actions with the Exchange server makes it very slow to handle such a large group. I did make an optimization which might help so make sure you are on one of the latest test releases: Hold down ⌥ when clicking “Check Now” in the Software Update preferences pane to get the latest test release.

Given that @Bricker is not using Office365 then there's also something else going on here. I'll have to look into more optimizations and/or, optionally, disabling some contact groups related features.

Still slow post updating to latest test build. And Yes - contacts I have never added.

@Will: Could you try again with r5930? I don't think it'll fully fix it, but it might make it faster.
