Memory leak with build 5923 on Ventura/Mac M1
Reported by Joseph P. Hillenburg | October 28th, 2022 @ 05:52 PM
I have Ventura on an iMac M1, and have noticed that 5923 (as well as the previous test builds) sometimes goes into a state with a runaway memory leak. If I let it go, it will exhaust all memory.

Sorry about the late response. This system has a tendency to mark new tickets as spam.
Please try the following:
- Open the utility Activity Monitor (Applications/Utilities).
- Select MailMate.
- Trigger the issue.
- Use “Sample Process” in Activity Monitor (in the popup menu).
Send me the result using “Help > Send Feedback”.

Thanks, I also replied to that email. Here's what I wrote in case you didn't get my reply:
Thanks, is it also hanging when this happens, that is, you have to force quit?
It appears to be related to drawing the message list. Maybe send me a screenshot such that I can see if anything might be out of the ordinary. You can use View > Distortion > Mode for privacy.

I didn't see your response for some reason. Anyhow, I sent you the screenshot as requested. I don't see anything that looks off in the list view.
Yes, I do have to force quit as the Mailmate process has the pinwheel of death.
I will note that I do not see any issue accessing the same messages with "organize by thread" disabled.

I just noticed something else interesting. The issue does not seem to occur in the All Messages meta folder.

Thanks for the additional observation. I've replied to your most recent direct email for further debugging.

I spoke too soon. It is not happening with all threads, but with some.
