Can't get MailMate to show notifications

I'm running MailMate 1.13.2 (5673) with the same config on 3 systems. One of them, running MacOS 10.14, won't show any MailMate notifications in the Control Center (even the "Message copied to..." notification doesn't show.)
MailMate is listed in System Preferences / Notifications, and has Banners alert style. Have tried switching to None or Alerts, and then back to Banners. Don't know what else to try.

First try to see if the latest test release behaves differently: Hold down the option key when clicking “Check Now” in the Software Update preferences pane.
