Message window not responding to keyboard

Often after having MailMate open for some time, the message windows stop responding to keyboard events.
E.g.: I open a message in a new window to read it (I've got Message View collapsed). Now I want to mark it as unread with CMD+SHIFT+U, but the message window does not respond. Then I want to close that window with CMD+W, but it doesn't respond.
The interesting thing is, when I send the CMD+SHIFT+U command (with active Message Window) and I click on the View Window, the Viewer Window will handle the last sent sequence.
MailMate: 5848
macOS: 11.6
with GPGTools
PS: I like MailMate very much!

A quick attempt to reproduce this failed, but it's also likely some kind of intermediate step is needed.
I don't use the separate message window myself. Technically, the issue is likely related to the “link” between the main window and the separate message window which exists to, e.g., make undo possible even after closing the message window.
Do you spot any pattern with respect to when this problem occurs?

Unfortunately I didn’t recognise a pattern. I was thinking about whether it is related to some attachments or images embedded in the viewer, but I’m not sure about that :-/

I'm thinking more like a specific order of events. Switching between windows, multiple single message windows, closing/opening windows, selecting other messages/mailboxes in the main window.

Not, that I'm aware of. But I will update the ticket if I detect something.
A dump wouldn't help in this case?
