Main window grows on error popup

Whenever I get an error (credential issue, some email hiccup, etc), after I close the popup it seems the main window has resized itself so its ~120% as wide as my monitor. I saw this 5728 and now again today with 5820. I have a two monitor setup (my laptop and an external) and the second monitor is indeed wider than my laptop. I'm assuming that plays a role.
My system: MailMate/5820/358AB914-545F-5910-8503-9939ADDF04AA 11.4.0/x86_64/MacBookPro16,1/16
