Expose hidden settings in Preferences
Reported by Stefan Doehla | March 17th, 2021 @ 09:04 AM
Hi Benny,
MailMate gets better with every version (from great to greater), there are however so many hidden preferences (via command line "defaults") that one can set, that it's hard to explore them by reading the mailing list archives, Changelog, etc.
To explore those gems (some I've used myself, also based on your reactions to e.g. my tickets) I wonder whether it would make sense to allow everyone to use them (at their own risk), e.g. by adding an "Advanced" tab to the preferences and then have a table with the setting name, maybe a short description, and the value. Also chrome://flags for Chrome is a good example how to give users all options.
I would understand if you think that's dangerous and has the risk to create more support workload, on the other hand it would be really great for all users. It would also make it a bit easier for new features to come with new versions, but have them disabled by default.
