Strange new Save Attachment behaviour
Reported by David Vereschagin | July 4th, 2012 @ 04:22 PM
I just updated to 1.4.2 (2947) a few minutes ago, and I note a
strange new behaviour when using Save Attachment…
The document gets renamed and saved with the path of the folder
added to it. E.g. I receive a document named foobar.jpg. Using Save
Attachment… the name of the saved document becomes
Users_david_Documentsfoobar.jpg.

Oops, that was caused by a workaround for a different problem. I'll look into that right away and hopefully get an update out later tonight. (Note that r2947 is a beta release although that is not much of an excuse for this kind of blunder.)

I've got MM set to update to betas. I thought I should let you know about this before it went to release!

You did the right thing (thanks) and I've stopped the beta release. I'll release the fix as a new beta.

Fixed in 2948! Thanks, Benny.
This probably should be separate ticket, or not a ticket at all, just a query: I've now noticed that when I do a regular Save Attachment of an RTF document, it both gets saved to the default folder and gets opened in TextEdit. Doing a Save Attachment… (where I have to select the location) does just a save, without opening the document. Is this the expected behaviour?

- State changed from new to fixcommitted
No, it should only bounce the Downloads folder. Are you sure? Is it only
RTF documents?[state:fixcommitted]

Hm, now I can't duplicate it with any kind of document. Could be I accidentally picked the wrong menu item. I'll let you know if it does happen again.
