Setting default columns is not working properly

Reported by Charlie Clark | June 17th, 2020 @ 09:15 AM

This is with r5693.

Like to have attachments and mail size in my default column view. Yesterday, for the first time, I tried to set this as the "Default column view" from one mailbox. But as soon I switched back to this mailbox from another, the view had been reset to the default.

For the UI, it would be useful to indicate whether a particular mailbox is using the default view.

    Hi,

I'm new to Mailmate and my Version 1.13.2 (5673) is not able to change the default behaviour of the view columns.

I add my favorite columns to view and arrange the in the order I like aftrwards I choose view, columns, use as default column.

And if I change to a different view / mailbox and come back - my settings are gone... :(((

    thanks for every help!

I have had difficulties using the two bottom options in the "View" > "Columns" menu, they were greyed out unexpectedly.

Secondary ("right") click on the column headers had them accessible to me and they appear to have been saved that way.

    • State changed from “new” to “reproduced”

@Lars: I believe they are greyed out when the focus is not in the message list.

It's a known issue that saving column settings is not very robust (partly bugs, partly tricky design decisions), but the fix is best done by a complete rewrite and that will have to wait until I also rewrite the message list to fix other issues.

@Alfred: Your issue likely means you have to reset saved column states like this (in a Terminal window):

    defaults delete com.freron.MailMate MmMailboxRelatedStates
