Can't Quote/Unquote
Reported by jimleff.ny (at gmail) | May 29th, 2020 @ 01:39 AM
Hi, I'm using the latest MailMate in the latest Catalina.
Quote More and Quote Less have no visible effect. I tried changing the shortcut (in case some other process on my Mac was hijacking your keyboard shortcut), but no dice.
I'm wondering if maybe quoting in MailMate might be an invisible process in the composer window, requiring some sort of previewing to be viewed on my end?

I'd appreciate some help if I'm doing something wrong....

This feature only has any effect when quoted lines exist in the message, e.g.,:
Line 1 > Line 2 >> Line 3 >> Line 4
Quoting less would replace it with:
Line 1 > Line 2 >> [...]
Then quoting more would bring lines 3 and 4 back.
The feature is useful if receiving a message with a huge amount of unnecessary quoting levels, but I rarely use it myself because this won't ever happen in my personal correspondence (it might happen on a mailing list).
(You might be more interested in the functionality of the Indent menu items in the same submenu.)
(I've just noticed that the feature is actually broken in my own test version of MailMate, but it should work for you. I've noted to fix that.)
Does that answer your question?

Yes, though it's a bit counterintuitive to choose "Indent" (rather than "Quote") to offset a quote! :)
