In message composer, no useful right-click menu in quoted text

In message composer, in the new text area the right-click context menu works as expected [showing Cut/Copy/Paste and many other options], but in the quoted text area the only items in the context menu are "Drop HTML Variant" and "Services". I would very much like to have at least the "Copy" option, but ideally the same complete right-click menu.
