Show custom headers when viewing a message
Reported by Steve Mokris | April 23rd, 2020 @ 03:35 PM
I'd like to be able to choose additional message headers to show
when I'm viewing a message. For example, I'd like to see the
X-Spam-Score
and X-Report-Abuse
headers
for all messages that have them, so I can adjust my spam filter
settings when needed.
In Apple Mail, I can configure that in Preferences > Viewing > Show Message Headers > Custom.
I checked https://manual.mailmate-app.com/view#message-view and https://manual.mailmate-app.com/hidden_preferences but didn't see anything relevant.

Is this something that's being looked at? I'm planning/hoping to move from Mail to MailMate, and this would be useful for me too. I've looked at
headersFormatting.plist
and some of the other files in theLayouts
folder, but my skills are not up to understanding how and where I can extend them to add some more headers to show up in the default message display window. Even instructions on how to achieve this would be very helpful!Edit 28-1-21: Since my initial comment here, I discovered the mailing list, and a search of the archives provided all the information I needed. Editing
headersFormatting.plist
was indeed the answer, and once you get your head around the format, it's very powerful. For anyone who comes here in the future, these two messages from the mailing list archives are a great starting point:[MlMt] Customizing Headers Display (Wed, 13 Mar 2013 11:50:24 +0100)
