Ending parenthesis in URL incompatible with Markdown

URL:s that end with a right parenthesis are incompatible with Markdown. Even if the URL is , the last parenthesis gets lost in cyberspace.
Working example:
https://da.wikipedia.org/wiki/Søren_Sørensen_(forfatter)

Note that a workaround for this is to (manually) escape the opening and closing parentheses with %28 and %29, respectively.
