selector in smart mailboxes does not work

My wife has smart mailboxes for recently received emails in certain other mailboxes with condition like:
date-received is within 1 weeks
Strangely, this shows different results than
date-received is within 7 days
The days setting is always correct. The difference in messages shown is non trivial. See attachment for pairs of results, comparing using days to weeks or months in two different smart mailboxes. Compare the threshold specification with the count of messages found as shown in the window's titlebar.
I use the same version 5657 but I can't reproduce this problem on my computer. Quite odd.

I should have noted that the problem is not new and was also in release 1.12
