printing messages with images does not inherit "load once"

If I am printing an HMTL-formatted message and I tell MM to "load once" pics, the message looks properly in the MM window, but the printed message has only placeholder for the images and most of the message retains only text, messing the layout. The messages in question are invoice and tax office is particular about them looking properly.
You Benny posted on the mailing list (around a year ago) that using “Load Once” is not “inherited” when printing but it might be an easy fix. Another invoice printing round is upon me and I am facing the same problem again. I am currently using version 1.13.
