Better integration of SpamSieve for drone configurations

#2240

I am running a SpamSieve drone configuration, with my home iMac as the drone. When using my other email clients, I move messages that I categorise as spam into the 'TrainSpam' folder for that IMAP account. When the drone scans that folder, it applies a rule that sets the status of the enclosed messages to 'Junk' sends them to the 'Spam' folder for that IMAP account. Because MailMate trains SpamSieve on such messages, SpamSieve eventually learns to move such messages directly to the 'Spam' folder without my having to move them to 'TrainSpam' first. This seems to work pretty well.

What I would like is to be able to use the 'Mark as Junk' command of my other email clients to move the specified message into the 'TrainSpam' folder, or to otherwise train SpamSieve on messages without having to move them manually into 'TrainSpam'.

I tried marking 'TrainSpam' as 'Junk' using the Mail > Mailbox Type > Junk menu command. When this is done, the 'TrainSpam' folder becomes the junk folder for that IMAP account, and if I use a client's 'Mark as Junk' command, the message goes there rather than to 'Spam'. But then MailMate does not display the contents of the 'Spam' folder for that account in its aggregate 'Spam' folder (I renamed it from 'Junk') in the sidebar of the Viewer window; it displays the contents of 'TrainSpam' instead, because that's designated the Junk folder, and so it's generally empty.

If I leave the 'Spam' folder designated as Junk and use a client's 'Mark as Junk' command, the message goes directly to the 'Spam' folder and SpamSieve on my drone Mac never sees it, so it learns nothing about the message.

It seems to me that marking the 'TrainSpam' folder as the Junk folder would work, provided there were a way to tell MailMate which folders were to be aggregated under the 'Spam' folder in the sidebar, so that I could explicitly mark the account's 'Spam' folder as the one to include, rather than the one that has been designated as Junk (the 'TrainSpam' folder).

All this probably seems a bit baroque, but if you stare at it for awhile, I think it makes sense. Let me know if you think otherwise.
