Default columns issue
Reported by Gabriel Bordeaux | December 11th, 2018 @ 03:34 PM
Mailmate Version 1.12.2 (5568)
1) If I go in a mailbox in "Sent Messages", edit the columns and
click on "Use as default columns" (see 1.jpg)
2) I go back in a mailbox in "Inbox" and I don't see "From" anymore
but only (To) (see 2.jpg)
3) I want to remove "To" and add "From" instead. I right click to
edit the column but I cannot unselect "To" -> it is grayed out
(3.png)
Expected behavior: I should be able to remove the recipient "To" column when looking at incoming emails. Changing default columns in "Sent messages" disabled this behavior.

- State changed from new to reproduced
There are unfortunately some general issues with handling mailbox related states (including columns). In particular for mailboxes which should have different column setups. This might be part of your problem. This should be addressed in a future update with a completely new system to handle mailbox related states.
Note: A column cannot be removed if it's the outline column (the one with the triangle). You can use the columns menu to change the outline column first.
If you need to completely reset mailbox related states then it can be done as follows using a Terminal window (do it while MailMate is not running):
defaults delete com.freron.MailMate MmMailboxRelatedStates

Indeed this fixed the issue.

Improving the feature would be great.
Thanks for getting back to me quickly. I suggest that we close the ticket (I don't think I can do it myself) since my issue was not being able to remove the "to" column and I was able to do it after changing the outline column.
THanks
