After closing from full screen, window is resized

I'm using MailMate 1.12 (5528) on macOS Mojave.
When working with MailMate in normal screen mode (not full screen) I have the window sized in a way that it's positioned directly below the main menu on the top of the screen and fills the rest of the screen. When I close MailMate and reopen, the window size and position is properly restored.
However, when switching to full screen mode and closing MailMate from there, the window is resized upon reopen in a way that there is a noticeable gap between the menu bar and the MailMate window. The gap is only produced towards the top, the bottom and the two sides are not affected.
Adding a screenshot is not possible right now, the ticket system gives an "Upload Quota Reached" message and asks to notify the account owner.
