Deleting messages
Reported by Philippe Cailly | March 8th, 2017 @ 07:14 AM
I'm running mailmate 1.9.6 (r5347) on macOS (Sierra 10.12.3).
When i attempt to delete a message, for instance in the Inbox, by either pressing the DEL key, or ny clicking on the trashbin icon or even using the Message/Delete menu command, the message does not get deleted. I have to do the same operation a second time to be successful. This happens whether there is only one or there are several messages selected.
Thks for yr help
Best regards,
Philippe Cailly

Same with me. The message turns red, but does not disappear. It has to be deleted twice. Very annoying.

I'm not sure you are both having the exact same problem, but it might help if I describe how MailMate (and IMAP) works.
By default, deleting a message in MailMate moves the message to the designated trash can of the corresponding account (“Deleted Messages”). When deleting a message in this mailbox then it's deleted permanently as soon as possible. While this is pending then it's going to be colored red if you are viewing the mailbox under SOURCES.
Originally, I did not really intend for the mailboxes under SOURCES to be the primarily used mailboxes. For example, the root mailboxes in this part are actually showing all emails of each account including those in junk and deleted messages. Deleting a message here would result in something similar to what you both describe. It's tricky to change this now, but it might be better if the default was that these mailboxes were simply proxies for the INBOX'es of the account. At least I think this would confuse fewer users.
When you see the unexpected behavior then try enabling the “Source Mailbox” column in the message list. This might make it more clear to you what is going on. If you think there is a bug then let me know and we'll try to debug it.
