Error during upgrade: Read-only file system
Reported by jpmailmate | February 26th, 2017 @ 02:02 AM
Hi and sorry, if this has been answered somewhere. I could not find anything in the documentation.
I installed mailmate in my apps folder and it used to work just fine. There has been an update released (r5347) and I am running r5319, so I wanted to apply the update.
The result is an "Error moving current version. Error: Read-only file system"
I obviously must have done something wrong, but what?
Thanks
JP

Ahh, never mind. For some reason, the app was launched from the download folder, not the apps folder. Working as it should, ticket can be closed.
Cheers

I have exactly the same situation. I don't see that the installer or the current Mailmate app is running from Downloads.

@Steve: MailMate is not very good at handling it if it doesn't have write permissions when updating. Try downloading MailMate directly and re-install it in
/Applications/
. It's available here: https://download.mailmate-app.com(You do not lose any settings when doing this.)
