Example Smart Folders with Images/PDFs not sorting by date

I use the Examples smart folder for keeping track of things
like, well, PDFs and images. The following folders:
- All Images - Messages with Images - All PDFs - Messages with
PDFs
do not sort properly if doing so by date, regardless of ascending or descending.
