  • State changed from “new” to “accepted”

  I have planned to implement a status bar like the one in the composer.
  This would include a popup with attachments. But I also plan to move
  more things into the webview of the message viewer, in particular, when
  displaying multiple messages. For attachments, it could simply show the
  attachments of all the messages, and maybe the same would work for other
  functionality suitable for the status bar.

  I'll keep this ticket open until I either implement a status bar or drop
  it. The jury is still out.

  Thank you for the answer. I don't know when you plan to implement these functions so I present below some details concerning the current implementation.

  • The lengths of the cells seem not to be the same for all the attached files.
  • Another detail: concerning the formatting around the table, problems sometimes appear.
  • Lastly, I thought that inline reading of PDF have had been disabled in this version (I have 1.2 (2175)) but it appears that some PDF are opened in the MailMate message window, did I misunderstood?

  The first problem is related to the attachments not really being inside
  a real table. I should change that since it'll make it easier to style
  the attachments.

  Second point may be fixed by that change as well.

  Some people use PDF as an alternative to image formats such as PNG.
  Therefore if an attachment is explicitly marked as inline, MailMate
  displays it inline, but I do it using an HTML image tag (avoiding PDF
  plugins). You can get the restrictive approach using

  defaults write com.freron.MailMate MmNeverInlinePDF -bool YES
  

  Long term plan is a much more flexible system for inline-status of
  specific attachments and MIME-types.
