Reply-to: mail setup

Reported by P. Prints | September 1st, 2016 @ 05:25 PM

Hi,

I'm having problems, or maybe not it's even possible.
I do have an gmail account I'm trying to add a specific reply-to address, instead of having the reply-to address to the gmail account.
I've already have the forwarding setup, and the new mail(at)mydomain.com linked, but it still shows the gmail address when sending a test mail to a different account. It's possible in Gmail, but anyone who knows how to set this up in MailMate?

Thanks in advance for all help!

Best,
P

Sorry about the delay. I get a lot feedback :)

In MailMate you can setup multiple email addresses in the IMAP account settings. It's described here, but essentially it's just a comma-separated list. Well, actually you might not want the Gmail address in that list if this is part of migrating to a different account?

Now, Gmail might be a problem, because I've seen problems in the past where MailMate sends a message with a specific From address and then Gmail replaces it with the default address. I cannot recall if this can be controlled somewhere in the Gmail settings.

    I hope this helps.

    Hi Benny,

thank for your feedback. Thought there where others working in here as well, so sorry for stressing :)

I've tried with several multiple addresses. And it works to send, but always when seeing the mail on a different account, tthe reply-to address is always the gmail account. This was a very easy thing to fix in Thunderbird, which I used before, but really cant understand how to setup this in MailMate.

I've done as much as I can in the google account. When I'm logged in and send through gmail in browser it works, but in MailMate is not working. Maybe something to work on since there are probably a few businesses that uses MailMate who would like that feature. I don't know. But Thank you for a very easy and complete mail client. Will still continue to use it!

    Hi Benny!

After a while I managed to figure it out. I had to setup the domain at the host and add the account to gmail to be able to send/receive mail as the same address in Gmail. Now it's working. Sorry for wasting your time.

    Have a great one :)

    Best Regards,
    P.Prints

I'm glad you got it working. To be honest, I was still not 100% sure what you were trying to do -- which is probably why my first answer wasn't helpful.
