Removing tags on message send

Reported by Steve Mayer | January 20th, 2016 @ 11:31 PM

I can create an outbox rule that removes a tag. I'm assuming this is removing the tag from the message that is sent.

is there any way for me to remove the tag from the message that I'm replying to?

To clarify:

  1. I've received an email that I definitely need to respond to.
  2. I create a tag on the email "@NeedToReply"
  3. I've got a Smart Mailbox set up to show all messages with this tag.
  4. I reply to one of these messages. Therefore, the tag needs to be removed (or replaced with '@Replied', not sure yet) from this message, not the message I'm replying with.

Hope that makes sense.

Thanks!

MailMate sets \Answered on replied messages. You could create a smart mailbox matching these messages with a rule to remove/add any tags you would like. (You could just map @Replied to \Answered in the Tags preferences.)

This might even work well when replying with other email clients using \Answered (some might use $Answered I believe).

It's also possible to make more advanced smart mailboxes not based on \Answered, but that seems to be unnecessary in this case.

Let me know if this does not help.
