Unread Emails Not Marked Read

Hello:
When I open an email and read, neither the "dot" nor the bolded row is changed.
How can I resolve?

What is your setting in the Viewer preferences pane for marking messages as read?
What kind of IMAP server do you use? (You can just share the IMAP server address and I can check myself.)
