error when SMTP password changed
Reported by Thibaud | May 23rd, 2011 @ 01:42 PM
I changed my mail account password.
MailMate asked me the new password when checking IMAP and there
is no problem so far.
However, I can't send e-mail by SMTP. I suppose MailMate always use
my old password since the Activity viewer indicates :
S: 535 5.7.8 Error: authentication failed: authentication failure
Error: Unexpected return code 535 (expected 235):
The authentication failure is confirmed by my webmail (which indicates me imap and smtp attempts).
Am I the only one to have encountered this problem?

I have no similar reports at the moment, but changing password is
probably not done very often, so it could still be a general problem.Passwords are stored in the Keychain. There you can see which password
MailMate has stored. Also check for any output in the Console.

It worked.
In the keychain, the password for IMAP changed but not the password for SMTP (it was the old password).
