quickly hide mailboxes?

trying to setup a key binding to quickly hide mailboxes... is there a command that does it? e.g. "hideMailbox" or some such?
w = "collapseThread:";
h = "hideMailbox:";
???
the keystroke is very awkward and there's no way to add a toggle button to the toolbar
