Email stuck in outbound

It happens often that I have stuck email in outbound. To recover, I simply quit and reopen the app.
How can I track the problem?

Sorry about the late reply.
In the Terminal you can enable this debug variable:
defaults write com.freron.MailMate MmDebugSend -bool YES
Then launch MailMate from the Terminal window:
/Applications/MailMate.app/Contents/MacOS/MailMate
Also make sure you are using the 64 bit release of MailMate (to make sure this is not an issue already fixed).
