Browsing the thread for specific mail

Suppose I have a single email message open as a separate window. Is there a way to browse the whole thread related to this specific email?

There is no such built-in feature yet. The best I can offer you is to use custom key bindings to add a shortcut to open a mailbox window with the corresponding thread. This is pretty low-level though and probably not precisely what you are looking for:
