Numerous issues starting with MailMate

I am very new to MailMate and joined because of reviews I have read.

I have the following issues.

1: Under Sources: The wheel continues to spin for hours beside the following folders. MAIN - INBOX - SENT

2: Messages are extremely slow to open: When clicking on the email the body of the message can take up to 1 minute to appear. The internet is relatively slow here but surely not that slow?

3: Sent Emails: Appear in SENT MESSAGES folder (a folder that does not appear on my server) and fail to update to the SENT folder both on my Mac and on my server.

4: Deleting messages: I need to click delete on my messages twice before they are highlighted in red. They however still appear in my INBOX. I can find no way to remove them.

Considering whether or not to continue with MailMate.

    First, thanks for trying out MailMate.

    I assume you have a relatively large email account. This can be a challenge for MailMate, in particular during the initial import. If you use Gmail then you might also be experiencing that Google throttles the bandwidth during high activity.

    1. Open the Activity Viewer (⌥⌘0). If you see FETCH statements then MailMate is still working on fetching your emails.

    2. During initial import MailMate tries to prioritize fetching the body of any messages you view, but this does not work as well as intended.

    3. Under SOURCES, locates the mailbox used for sent messages and select it. Then use “Mailbox ▸ Mailbox Type” to assign it to be used for “Sent Messages”.

    4. This is also because the account is not fully synchronized yet. MailMate fetches all messages before synchronizing local changes to the server. The red color means that it is scheduled to be deleted on the server. The first time you delete, the messages is moved to “Deleted Messages” of the account. When selecting an account under SOURCES you are seeing messages, e.g., both in Inbox and Deleted Messages. This is why you experience that you have to delete twice.

    I'll mark the ticket as closed, but you can still comment and I'm aware that some of the above are implicit requests to improve behavior during the initial import.
