Thanks for the report. Did you expect/need this to work? No email (SMTP) server that I know of would accept such a large attachment to be submitted. The crash happens because MailMate runs out of memory, but even if it didn't I would expect such a large attachment to hang MailMate for a considerable amount of time.
I'll note that MailMate could/should issue a warning when trying to attach huge files.

No, I didn't expect it to actually work. After watching the Apple WWDC Keynote where they showed how they were handling large attachments in the Yosemite version of Mail, I thought I'd test out other mail clients. Fastmail's web interface gave me a warning about their 50MB limit, Google warned me that their limit was 25MB. MailMate was the only one that simply crashed.
What is the attachment size limit in MailMate?

The size limit in MailMate is not a fixed value. MailMate simply runs out of memory address space at some point. The theoretical limit would be 4GB, but in practice it's much lower. When MailMate goes 64bit then it's going to be larger, but in practice it doesn't matter.
If the server advertises its limit (using an optional SMTP feature) then MailMate also warns you if you try to send a message that is too large, but MailMate cannot know this at the time of message creation.
