Correct order of conversations

Reported by Greg Raines | April 28th, 2013 @ 05:11 PM

Hi,

I've looked pretty extensively through the preferences, there is no way to order conversations newest to oldest, including minutes. The software allows for days without issue but if I have 10 emails in the same day, I have to toggle to the bottom to get to the newest email. This isn't user friendly. Can either a preference pane be added or when you choose oldest to newest, change the parameters to take time during day into account as well.

Thanks,
Greg

Are you sure about this? I don't think the 'minutes' of a day plays a role in what you see. My guess is that this is related to how MailMate threads messages. Workarounds are that you can either disable threading (“View ▸ Organize by Thread”) or display new messages at the bottom (it's not so bad).

I do plan to add a threading mode similar to other email clients (single-level grouping) which would allow the kind of sorting you are looking for. It's just not possible with the current threading mode which is best suited for newest-at-bottom sorting.

Let me know if you think MailMate really fails to sort correctly with regard to minutes.
